FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. They ask that you share the attached flyers and the information below.
- The attached flyers are in English and Spanish
- People can learn more in this public training video, https://youtu.be/DgvN_9m58Z0. It provides additional instructions on the requirements for applying for assistance
- The website FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Program is being updated with the most recent information and frequently asked questions. Please direct individuals to this site. The site is available in several languages including Arabic, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Korean, Chinese, French, Filipino, Bengali, Portuguese, Russian, Vietnamese and Hindi.
- If there are questions that cannot be answered by the website, those questions may be submitted to: covid19funeralassistancerfi@fema.dhs.gov
If you or your partners work with individuals who communicate via assistive technology, please remind them that FEMA is aware that TTY is an obsolete technology and not widely used anymore. The below information should assist further with those who rely on assistive technologies:
- If someone uses a relay service, such as a videophone, Innocaption or CapTel, they will need to provide their specific number assigned to that service. It is important that FEMA is able to contact them, and applicants should be aware that phone calls from FEMA may come from an unidentified number.
FEMA has had a large influx of calls. They request the public’s patience.
