Project NO REST welcomed professionals in the anti-human trafficking movement from across the state and the nation for its annual conference on Tuesday, Aug. 7, and Wednesday, Aug. 8, in New Bern, N.C. During that conference, Laura Murphy, PhD., at Loyola University presented her findings of a 10-city study about labor and sex trafficking among homeless youth. Leaders of the Project NO REST pilot sites participated in a panel discussion on collaborations, successes, and progress. The North Carolina Coalition Against Human Trafficking brought their collaborative expertise to the table during the final day of the conference and discussed the process of connecting trafficking victims to services.
